Creole Seasoning

Our 7 year old son enjoyed helping me to measure all the seasonings. He smelled each one (carefully) before we put it in and realized that spice can be good! Unfortunately he went to smell it again after we blended and bottled it, exhaled into the bottle and the spices wafted into his eye. What a surprise to him! We flushed his eye in the sink and he was good in just a minute. Now he knows why DaMama was telling him over and over to bring it up slowly to his nose until he smelled it.

2 ½ Tbs Paprika

2 Tbs Salt

2 Tbs garlic powder

1 Tbs black pepper

1 Tbs onion powder

1 Tbs cayenne pepper

1 Tbs oregano

1 Tbs Tyme

 Use dry herbs and spices. Blend thoroughly and store in airtight container for up to 1 year. I use this in many recipes not just typical “Creole” dishes. Often I add this seasoning blend to flour before dredging fish, chicken or veggies. Enjoy!
